The Australasian Mycologist

Australasian Mycologist, the on-line open access journal of the Australasian Mycological Society, publishes on all aspects of mycology, for example, taxonomy, ecology, systematics, genetics, medical mycology, plant pathology, population biology, mycology history. The journal fills a specific niche in Australasian mycological publishing, catering for anyone with an interest in any aspect of mycology. Professional and amateur mycologists can publish quality original research papers, reviews and commentaries.

Please note changes to the publication of new species descriptions according to the Melbourne Code, which revises the International Code of Botanical Nomenclature - see http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3173377. Specifically, from January 2012, new species descriptions can be published in electronic format only; there is no longer a need for a Latin description; and from January 2013 all new names of fungi must include in the protologue the citation of an identifier issued by a recognized repository (such as MycoBank).

All submitted papers will be subject to peer review. Australasian Mycologist is published three times a year and is indexed by Thomson Reuters in Biological Abstracts and BIOSIS Previews.  ISSN: 1441-5526.
